PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES TRUST KECK
Every professional athlete was once a youth athlete. That is why we view the youth stages of sports as the most important. No one gets ‘there’ without first being ‘here’. That is why we trust the same doctors who work on Los Angeles’ premier professional athletes, like the LA Kings, to consult and work with our volleyball athletes. So much of the care young athletes receive now will have long term affects on their future development as athletes.

WE GOT YOU
Having a personal relationship with world class sports physicians can be the difference between a return-to-play and a season ending injury. The personal relationship we have with the doctors of Keck Medicine and the Meyer institute ensures that our athletes get the proper care on-time the first time.
Dr. Frank Petrigliano (pictured above with LAVBC Director Jason Olive) is the head Physician for the LA Kings hockey team and USC intercollegiate athletes.

PHYSICAL TRAINING & REHAB
Staying healthy as an athlete is job #1. With proper strengthening and flexibility work, along with a proper diet, an athlete can do a lot to give themselves the best chances of staying on the court. However, when injuries occur it is important that they are diagnosed properly and handled with expert and efficient care. That is why LAVBC has partnered with Moti Physical Therapy and USC Keck Medicine to ensure our athletes have immediate access to world class care.
BODY WORK
LAVBC welcomes master therapist Eric Boguslavsky
Eric has been practicing in Southern California for 7 years. His specialty is Russian medical massage, which focuses on deep tissue and reciprocal inhibition techniques. He combines this method with other modalities to create unique treatment plans for each client. He uses very firm and increasing pressure on his clients, as light pressure is not effective for the type of massage he performs.
Eric works to go far beyond clients’ requests by helping them to understand what is causing their pain and by guiding them through the healing process. He teaches his clients how to improve through a daily maintenance of stretches and exercises.
A typical first session with Eric will be at least 60 minutes, as he requires that amount of time to fully assess the body and what is causing pain. He performs quick assessments to determine which muscles are overactive vs. underactive, and to locate the adhesions which are causing discomfort.
After the first session, the focus will shift to breaking down the initial layer of tension and creating a space in the fascia to reduce inflammation. By the third session, clients will begin to learn maintenance work so they can further progress along their own path to healing.
